A new collection from luxury activewear label Live The Process proves meditation doesn’t have to be about a rejection of the material, says Ruby Warrington.
A while back, I wrote a story for the New York Times about clothing to meditate in. My editor liked the irony in deciding what to wear for a practise that’s supposedly about the rejection of the material – but obviously here at the Numinous we’re highly evolved enough to appreciate that looking cute and communing with your higher self needn’t be mutually exclusive.
The folks over at Live The Process, one of our favorite high fashion fitness labels, obviously feel the same way. Last week, they launched this elegant capsule collection in association with actress Alyssa Miller and transcendental meditation (TM) organization the David Lynch Foundation – with the aim of spreading the message that “Change Begins Within.”
Live The Process is deeply invested in this philosophy, and founder Robyn Berkley considers a regular meditation practise to be an essential component of a well-balanced, modern lifestyle. “I realized the key role meditation played in my life when I was doing my yoga certification program in Bali,” she says. “I was introduced to the David Lynch Foundation and TM on returning from my trip, and I knew that what they were offering was a true tool to improving one’s life mentally, emotionally and then of course as a result, physically.”
Her new collection speaks to the later, of course (the shapes are super flattering and who wouldn’t want to adorn their TM-blissed-out bod with this gorgeous floral print?) – but the mind-body connection begins right here.
Full collection available at Barney’s New York and online at Livetheprocess.com. A percentage of all proceeds goes to the David Lynch Foundation.
