“We bleed and yet we do not die – just think about the symbolism of that. We are capable of allowing our life blood to flow out of ourselves without any harm to us. And we do this month after month after month.”

It’s a very empowering way of looking at this time, and one I had not thought about. I wish I had been told something similar when I had my first cycle, and will definitely remind myself to say it to my daughter, were I to have one in the future. It’s like saying, “you are so powerful and you can do anything – look at what your body is capable of!”
